How to Activate a Database

  1. Look up the database in the Community Zone. 
  2. Click Activate. 
  3. Click Confirm, if you receive an activation confirmation message. 
  4. If necessary, add a Public Name Override, such as Global Road Warrior (Phoenix College). 
  5. If necessary, add a level URL (when your college has a unique URL).
  6. If the database will only show as a bib record, uncheck "Mark Bib as suppressed." SEE NOTE BELOW.
  7. Do not make any other changes on this page. You will be adding your library and proxy information at a later stage. 
  8. Click Next. 
  9. Click Activate. 
  10. Now, look up the database in the Institution Zone. 
  11. Click Edit Collection. 
  12. Go to the Group Settings tab. 
  13. Add the settings for your college, including your proxy.
  14. Click Save. 
  15. Click Save again.

Uncheck "Mark Bib as Suppressed" Help

Uncheck Mark Bib as Suppressed

If you unchecked "Mark Bib as suppressed" but it is still suppressed and not showing in Discovery, a member of LTS can manually fix this for you. 

Fill out an LTS helpdesk ticket and ask them to edit the record for the specific Database in the MdEditor.  Ask them to un-check the box next to "Suppress From Discovery."
