To establish an account, start by creating an MEID using the MEID Account Wizard (works on campus only). Once you have created your MEID, contact your MCCCD Library to find out what is needed to get the actual card. All Community Borrower accounts are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and may be renewed upon request.
Reciprocal borrowing (Intra-district loans)

Students, faculty, staff, and Community Borrowers* of the 10 Maricopa County Community College District have reciprocal borrowing privileges, also known as intra-district loans ( IDLs). This means that as a member of one of these groups, you may borrow and renew most print books and some non-book items (e.g., DVDs, CDs, etc.) from any of the MCCCD Libraries. Use the Place Hold button in the library catalog to request items.

*See the "Community Borrower Eligibility" section for more information.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the process by which a library requests material from another library. This system is a cooperative arrangement among thousands of participating libraries: statewide, regional, national, and certain parts of the world.

  • Books and Articles that are not available from any of the Maricopa County Community College District Libraries can be requested by student, faculty, and staff of the Maricopa Community Colleges. Community Borrowers should contact their local public library to place interlibrary loan requests.
  • The primary purpose of interlibrary loan is to obtain specific materials needed for specific research needs.
  • This service is not designed to handle textbooks requests.
  • Your request may take 2-4 weeks to arrive. You will be notified when your material arrives.  Books borrowed from other libraries are typically available for 3 weeks and are not eligible for renewal.

To start your request, please use the Interlibrary Loan Request (ILLIad) Form to set up an account and place your request.
