Due Dates, Late Fees & Holds
The MCCCD Libraries are extending the due date of currently checked out materials (that are not assumed lost) until 5/11/2020. Late fees will not accrue on Library materials due during this time. New hold requests have been suspended, and you will not be able to pick up currently held items from your College Library until buildings reopen.
Library Returns & Drop Boxes
Library drop boxes are closed at all 10 Colleges until further notice. Please refrain from returning Library materials at this time. As noted above, due dates have been extended through 5/11/2020, and late fees will not accrue during this time.
Reserve Items
With Library buildings closed until further notice, textbooks held in the Library Reserve Collections are not accessible. Some vendors are providing options. Check Redshelf Responds, a partnership between MCCCD Follett Bookstores and multiple publishers to provide free online access to many textbooks until May 25. Students are allowed access to up to 7 books. If you do not find your textbook there, please work with your instructor to determine if it is available through Cengage eBooks that is offering students free access to 14,000 ebooks for the remainder of this semester. For anatomical models, calculators, and other materials held in your Library’s Reserve Collection, please contact your instructor for assistance.
Access to Computers & Technology
The MCCCD Libraries realize that many students rely on College-provided computers, software, Internet, and other technologies to successfully complete their coursework. MCCCD Colleges are actively working to find solutions. Please visit your College website for specific updates. The District has also provided Information about Internet Services and Access that includes a list of internet/WiFi resources as well as Anywhere Computing with collaboration tools and resources to connect with others while studying remotely.
