Renewals |
Use My Account to renew most items and to check for due dates. If you have already renewed an item one time or if somebody else has put the item on hold, you will not be able to renew it. |
Returns |
Non-Reserve items may be returned to any available Maricopa Community College District Library bookdrops; Reserve items must be returned directly to the owning library. |
Late Fees |
Books: When books are 28 days past due, they will be considered Lost-Assumed and the borrower will be billed the cost of the books. Non-Book Items: When non-book items (DVDs, periodicals etc.) are 14 days past due, the borrower will be billed the cost of the items. Borrowers have 90 days from the assumed lost date to return overdue books and non-book items and have the debt reversed. After 90 days, previous payment for overdue items that are subsequently returned is not refundable. Reserve Items (books and non-book items): Past due Reserve items may accrue late fines. When Reserve items are 2 days past due, they will be considered Lost-Assumed and the borrower will be billed the cost of the Reserve items. Borrowers have 7 days from the assumed lost date to return overdue Reserve items and have the cost of the item reversed. After 7 days, previous payment for overdue Reserve items that are subsequently returned is not refundable. Fines and fees may be paid at the college's Cashier's Office or in your Student Center at https://www.maricopa.edu/students. BRING YOUR RECEIPT AS PROOF OF PAYMENT TO THE LIBRARY. Unpaid fees may prohibit students from checking out library materials, registering for classes or ordering transcripts, and may be sent to collections. |
Community Borrower Eligibility | Maricopa County community residents 18 years old and older are eligible for Community Borrowing privileges at the MCCCD Libraries (not including electronic resources). To establish an account, start by creating an MEID using the MEID Account Wizard (works on campus only). Once you have created your MEID, contact your MCCCD Library to find out what is needed to get the actual card. All Community Borrower accounts are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and may be renewed upon request. |
Reciprocal borrowing (Intra-district loans) |
Students, faculty, staff, and Community Borrowers* of the 10 Maricopa County Community College District have reciprocal borrowing privileges, also known as intra-district loans ( IDLs). This means that as a member of one of these groups, you may borrow and renew most print books and some non-book items (e.g., DVDs, CDs, etc.) from any of the MCCCD Libraries. Use the Place Hold button in the library catalog to request items. *See the "Community Borrower Eligibility" section for more information. |
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) |
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the process by which a library requests material from another library. This system is a cooperative arrangement among thousands of participating libraries: statewide, regional, national, and certain parts of the world.
